Information Revolution

The Government has recently set out how the NHS will lead an 'information revolution', arming people with comprehensive information and data on all aspects of their health and adult social care including hospitals and GP services.

It aims to provide people with the information they need to stay healthy and enable them to take control and make informed decisions for themselves and their families.

It moves away from information recorded in ways that are difficult to compare, to information that is open, transparent and comparable.

You are invited to join the debate on NHS local in a series of live web chats discussing the national consultation ‘Liberating the NHS: An Information Revolution’. You'll be able to put your questions to an expert and get a live response.

Led by local doctors, health and social care professionals and other experts, the live web chats are an opportunity to say what an information revolution means to you, whether you work in the NHS, are a patient, carer or member of the public.

Each week, between 3 and 4pm on Tuesday afternoons, we will discuss a different chapter of the consultation document. You may want to join the discussion for one chapter, or all of them - you decide.

The first of the live chats took place on Tuesday, November 30. The next one will take place on Tuesday, December 7 at 3pm. If you’re unable to join the discussion at 3pm don't worry, you can catch up later.

You can find out more about the web chats in the Information Revolution article below .
