The Serenity Midwifery Birth Centre opened at City Hospital, west Birmingham in May 2010. It is near to the hospital's delivery suite but not part of it.

It is a purpose-built facility that looks and feels homely, with attention to making women feel comfortable and relaxed. The centre - also known as the Serenity Suite - is for low-risk births.
