The maternity unit is based within Russells Hall Hospital, part of the Dudley Group of Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in the Black Country.

The unit has 46 beds, 34 of which are single en suite labour, delivery, postnatal, and recovery (LDPR) rooms and three four-bedded rooms.

In 2009/10 4,716 babies were born within the unit.
